A statement from The Kurdistani Diaspora Confederation:
At a time when the dark and merciless forces of terror have once again carried out a frightening attack on the Khor mor gas field, we in The Kurdistani Diaspora Confederation strongly condemn this crime.
This attack is not merely an assault on an energy facility or a source of revenue; it is a strike at the heart of Kurdistan’s economy—an attempt to cut off the livelihood of its people and undermine the stability of the region. It is a calculated effort by hostile actors to obstruct Kurdistan’s path to development, a path that continues with determination under the leadership of President Barzani and the Kurdistan Regional Government.
This terrorist act undermines the stability of the global energy market and will contribute to rising fuel prices, which in turn will affect the daily lives of the international community.
Out of our commitment to the stability of the global economy, the welfare of the international community, and the people of the Kurdistan Region, we clearly and firmly call on the international community, the United Nations, the European Union, the European Parliament, and our allies:
Statements of concern alone can no longer protect Kurdistan.
The silence and passive stance of the international community have become fertile ground for lawless groups to continue their crimes. The world must cease being a mere observer and instead become a genuine protector, taking concrete action to put an end to these aggressions.
Kurdistan—having shed its blood to help protect the world from terrorism—must not now be left alone to face the flames of terror.
At the domestic level, today is a test of our national conscience. The enemy’s missiles do not distinguish between colours or viewpoints; they target the dignity of every Kurd in Kurdistan. We call on all political forces and parties to set aside their disputes and, in this decisive and critical moment, stand united with one voice and one position. Protecting the integrity of the Kurdistan Region is a red line, and we must collectively respond to those who plot against it.
We, the Kurdistani Diaspora Confederation, pledge that wherever we may be, we will remain the loud voice of our people’s suffering and their legitimate demands. We will continue to expose the dark face of terrorism to the world. Rest assured: the fire they seek to ignite in Kurdistan will consume only themselves, and Kurdistan will remain prosperous and dignified.
Glory to Kurdistan, and disgrace to the terrorists.
