On Saturday, January 24, 2026, the Kurdish Diaspora Center in the state of Washington organized a powerful rally in solidarity with the Kurdish people of Rojava. The event, held in the city of Bellevue, brought together nearly 200 participants from all parts of Kurdistan and the wider Kurdish diaspora. The rally aimed to draw public attention to the ongoing Kurdish struggle and the deep suffering faced by Kurds under the new regime in Syria.

Participants gathered to raise awareness about the current political and humanitarian situation in Kurdish territories, emphasizing the sense of abandonment felt by the Kurdish people despite their critical role in helping the United States and the international coalition defeat ISIS on behalf of the entire world. Throughout the rally, organizers urged attendees and supporters to take concrete action by calling U.S. government representatives and writing letters to members of Congress, asking for continued political and humanitarian support for Rojava.

In addition, the rally encouraged people to sign petitions and contribute donations to assist civilians in Rojava who are facing increasing instability and hardship. Protesters marched peacefully through the streets of Bellevue for nearly four city blocks, demonstrating unity, resilience, and determination while maintaining a calm and respectful presence.

After the march, participants returned to the main gathering area, where a young Kurdish girl delivered a heartfelt speech about the recent events in Syria and their impact on Kurdish communities. Her words were followed by several other speakers who spoke passionately about the ongoing struggle in Kurdish regions of Syria, highlighting the sacrifices made and the profound disappointment of being left without protection or recognition after years of cooperation with the U.S. and its allies.
The rally concluded with a renewed call for solidarity, justice, and international responsibility, reinforcing the message that the Kurdish people of Rojava must not be forgotten.
