KDC’s Statement Regarding the Martyrdom of Ghazal Mewlan

To the resilient and struggling people of Kurdistan,

Regrettably, last week, following a drone strike by the executioner regime [Iranian regime] targeting South Kurdistan, Ghazal Mewlan was martyred, and two of her comrades were critically injured.

As has become public knowledge, by a partisan political decision, the doors of all hospitals in Sulaimani were closed to the wounded, and they were denied medical treatment. This neglect was the primary cause of Ghazal Mewlan’s martyrdom.

Furthermore, following her death and the denial of medical care, the authorities in Sulaimani, in an act of utter heartlessness, even refused to grant the martyr a burial site. This serves as clear evidence of the Iranian regime’s dominance and influence over Sulaimani.

The Kurdistani Diaspora Confederation (KDC), which serves as a catalyst for the unity and solidarity of the Kurdish nation, strongly condemns this loathsome act that serves only the enemies of Kurdistan.

We call upon the Kurdish diaspora to denounce this crime, which violates our moral and national values and sows seeds of division among Kurds.

We also urge the international community, human rights organizations, and world governments not to remain silent in the face of these atrocities.

We demand the formation of a fact-finding committee to uncover the truth and ensure accountability. All those who have collaborated with terrorists and were complicit in the death of Ghazal Mewlan must be brought before international courts to face legal justice.
