KDC Demands Justice for Shingal Victims

On the 14th anniversary of the Yazidi genocide, the Kurdistani Diaspora Confederation (KDC) has reaffirmed its commitment to securing international recognition of these atrocities as genocide.

The Confederation further calls for the uncovering of the fate of those still missing and the urgent reconstruction of Shingal, enabling displaced persons to return to their ancestral homes with dignity.

In a statement released on this somber anniversary, the Kurdistani Diaspora Confederation noted that the brutal crimes committed by ISIS against our Yazidi brothers and sisters were not merely an attack on a single community, but a deep wound inflicted upon the body of the Kurdish people and all humanitarian values.

The KDC reiterated its unwavering determination to continue advocating in international forums until justice for the victims is achieved and the rights and identity of the Yazidis—as an integral part of the Kurdish nation—are fully protected.

The Kurdistani Diaspora Confederation urges the international community to accelerate efforts to restore life to Shingal.
The statement emphasizes that protecting Yazidi identity, honoring the victims, and standing in solidarity with survivors is a vital national duty toward a resilient community that has faced the most brutal campaign of annihilation.

Text of the Message:

“On the 14th anniversary of the genocide committed against our Yazidi brothers and sisters by ISIS terrorists, the Kurdistani Diaspora Confederation honors the victims of the Shingal tragedy with profound sorrow. This brutal crime, which shook the conscience of humanity, was not just an attack on one group; it was a permanent wound on the body of the Kurdish nation and humanity at large.

As the Kurdistani Diaspora Confederation, we reaffirm that we will continue our efforts to have this crime recognized as genocide in international arenas and to secure justice for the victims. We call upon the international community to expedite efforts to uncover the fate of the abducted and to reconstruct Shingal so that displaced families may return to the lands of their ancestors with dignity.

We bow our heads in respect to the pure souls of the Shingal martyrs and express our deepest solidarity with the survivors. The Yazidis are an authentic and inseparable part of our nation, and protecting their rights and identity is a collective duty.
