The head of the Kurdistani Diaspora Office met with the Minister of Nationalities and Culture of Stavropol Krai of the Russian Federation. During the meeting, the development of cultural relations between the two sides was discussed.
Today, Tuesday, August 11, 2026, Qahraman Othman, representing Shifa Barzani, Head of the Kurdistani Diaspora, together with Mamê Mamoyan, Head of the Sinjar Federation in Russia, met with Babin Sergey Anatolyevich, Minister of Nationalities and Culture of Stavropol Krai.
During the meeting, both sides emphasized the longstanding history of friendship and cultural ties between the people of Kurdistan and the Russian Federation. They also agreed on the importance of giving greater attention to culture and language as two key pillars for bringing communities closer together and strengthening cultural cooperation.
The meeting took place within the framework of the national and cultural activities of the Kurdistani Diaspora Confederation, which aims to promote national identity and build bridges with decision-making institutions and relevant ministries in countries where the Kurdistani diaspora resides, with the goal of protecting the cultural rights of Kurdistanis living abroad.
