The Youth Federation of the Kurdistani Diaspora Organizes an Educational Trip to a German Historical Museum.
As part of its ongoing efforts to familiarize Kurdish youth with the history and culture of their host countries, the Youth Federation of the Kurdistani Diaspora organized an educational and field trip for 50 young Kurds—comprising bachelor’s and master’s degree holders, as well as PhD candidates—to the Haus der Geschichte(House of History) museum in Bonn, Germany.
This activity serves as a step toward implementing the vision emphasized by President Barzani regarding the development of the capabilities of youth in the diaspora and their successful integration into European society.
In a special statement to the official website of the Kurdistani Diaspora Confederation, Yad Amin, President of the Youth Federation of the Kurdistani Diaspora, highlighted that this project is the direct result of President Masoud Barzani’s recommendations. He noted that during a meeting with President Barzani last year, the President stressed the necessity for Kurdish youth in the diaspora to establish a proper and influential place within European society. By becoming active members of these countries, they can simultaneously serve their host societies and advance the legitimate cause of Kurdistan.
Regarding the details of the visit, the Federation’s President explained that the Haus der Geschichtemuseum in Bonn is a crucial center for understanding the characteristics of the German people and the difficult phases they endured after World War II. The participating youth, who gathered from both Germany and the Netherlands, gained close insight into how life and the state were rebuilt following the devastation of the war. This experience was considered a fascinating historical lesson to help them understand Germany’s current progress.
The 50 young participants who joined the trip possess a high level of academic achievement, being students at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels, originating from all parts of Kurdistan and now residing in Europe. Organizing a visit for this large number of young people and managing the logistical and educational aspects of the trip was a challenging task, yet it was executed successfully and achieved its objectives.
As part of the itinerary, and with the aim of fostering social connections and networking among the Kurdish diaspora youth, a special dinner was organized. During this gathering, the young participants enjoyed a celebration featuring Kurdish music and traditional dancing. This served as a beautiful blend of national and cultural sentiment intertwined with the global historical knowledge they had acquired at the museum.
