Kurdish Women’s Delegation Participates in the G100 Global Leadership Summit in Portugal
Representatives from the Kurdish Diaspora Women’s Federation and several civil society organisations are taking part in the G100 Global Leadership Summit, held in the city of Sesimbra, Portugal.
The participation aims to amplify the voices, experiences, and aspirations of Kurdish women within international decision-making circles and global leadership platforms.
During the summit’s proceedings, the Kurdish Diaspora Women’s Federation is represented by Shirin Zaki and Arez Mohammadi, alongside the KG Lobby Center and the Congress of Nations and States (CNS), represented by Awring Shawais.

The delegation’s primary objective is to highlight and solidify the identity and rightful standing of Kurdish women in global discourse, particularly in the areas of women’s empowerment, civil society development, and the preservation of cultural and humanitarian values.
Delegation members emphasize that empowerment goes beyond merely attaining titles and leadership positions; it also involves creating opportunities to share historical narratives and collective memory, advocate for national rights, and elevate the voices of communities that have long struggled for freedom and social transformation.
As part of the delegation’s itinerary, the documentary film “The Dogs of Arar and Hajjaj,” produced by Mohammad Haji Qadir, will be screened for attendees and prominent international figures.
The cinematic piece serves as a powerful documentary medium to present the humanitarian, historical, and national dimensions of the Kurdish people to a global audience.

The G100 Leadership Summit is a premier international network comprising 100 specialised sectors.
It convenes women leaders, policymakers, human rights advocates, and civil society pioneers from around the world to shape forward-looking policies for social justice and promote equal leadership opportunities.
The participation of Kurdish women in such prominent global forums marks a strategic step toward elevating the legacy of Kurdish women’s resilience and leadership from the regional stage onto the platform of international diplomacy and global dialogue.
