Germany Alters Refugee Detention and Deportation Strategy
Germany has modified its policy on the detention and deportation of refugees, implementing nighttime raids to detain asylum seekers and carry out immediate deportations.
An independent monitoring report revealed that several families with children are being detained and deported during late-night hours, with some individuals forcibly returned without their personal belongings or essential documents.
Notably, the number of individuals deported through Berlin Brandenburg Airport in Germany saw a 15% increase in 2025, reaching a total of 2,591 deportees.
