A Message from the Kurdistani Diaspora Confederation To the Public and the Political Forces of Kurdistan

At a time when the region is passing through an exceptionally sensitive and complex period, recent developments concerning the Kurdistan Parliament and the democratic process constitute a historic test of political maturity and the consolidation of the foundations of governance in the Kurdistan Region.

The Kurdistani Diaspora Confederation, as an independent national institution and from a position of complete impartiality, stresses that respect for democratic outcomes is a fundamental principle. However, under no circumstances should the outcomes of the democratic process and the reactivation of Parliament lead to division or discord within the Kurdish community, or threaten the territorial integrity of the Kurdistan Region and its constitutional status.

The Kurdistan Region is the product of our people’s unceasing struggle and sacrifices. It is a beacon of hope for our nation across all four parts of Kurdistan and throughout the world. At this delicate moment, safeguarding this national achievement requires, more than ever, unity, solidarity and a shared voice from all.

Accordingly, we call on all political forces and parties in Kurdistan, particularly the two main parties—the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan—to come together at the dialogue table in a spirit of national responsibility, setting aside partisanship, and to resolve their disputes and differences jointly. Political differences must not pave the way for division; instead, they should serve as a basis for mutual understanding, strengthening stability and serving the people.

From its national standpoint, the Kurdistani Diaspora Confederation will always be a unifying voice and a defender of our people’s unity. It expects Kurdistan’s political leadership to act with wisdom and patience, safeguard the hopes of the people of Kurdistan, and protect Kurdish unity against every threat.
