The Kurdistani Diaspora Confederation has issued a strong appeal to all Kurds living in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), particularly in Cologne, to stand behind Berivan Aymaz, a Kurdish candidate running for the office of Mayor of Cologne.
In its statement, the Confederation stressed that supporting Aymaz’s candidacy is not only an endorsement of an individual but also a powerful step toward securing Kurdish representation at one of the highest levels of local government in Germany.
The Confederation emphasized that this call is part of its broader mission to empower Kurds in the diaspora, encouraging them to take an active role in the political, social, and administrative life of their countries of residence. Participation, it noted, is both a responsibility and an opportunity — a way to strengthen the presence and voice of Kurds in democratic societies.
The Confederation concluded by urging every Kurdish citizen eligible to vote in Cologne to make their voice heard at the ballot box, describing this as a defining moment for the Kurdish community in Germany and beyond.
