From Calgary to Rojava: Solidarity, Resistance, and Hope

Saturday, January 24, 2026, the Calgary Kurdish community came out in a powerful and united demonstration in solidarity with Rojava.

With strong energy and determination, participants called on the Government of Canada to re-impose sanctions on Ahmed al-Sharaa’s new Syrian government and urged the international community to act.

The Kurdish people were on the front lines fighting ISIS on behalf of the entire world. Today, they are being abandoned—but we will not stay silent.

Rojava is not alone. We are all Rojava.
