Russia Awards Heritage Certificate to a Kurdish Architect

The Russian Ministry of Culture has officially recognized the exceptional contributions of Kurdish artist and engineer Norik Museyan, awarding him a certificate for the protection of cultural monuments in a ministerial decree signed on Saturday, February 28, 2026.
The prestigious recognition was formalized through a ministerial order bearing the signature of the Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, highlighting Museyan’s significant role in the field of cultural preservation.

A Distinguished Career in Art and Architecture
Museyan, a Kurdish engineer and painter born in Armenia and currently residing in Moscow, has established a formidable reputation within the Russian artistic and academic communities.
His portfolio includes over 500 original works, and he has held five solo exhibitions across various Russian cities. His artistic influence extends beyond galleries, as he has participated in numerous scientific conferences, congresses, and competitions, consistently securing top honors and first-place awards.
Academic and Diplomatic Recognition
Museyan’s architectural prowess has been acknowledged at the highest levels of the Russian government. For four consecutive years, he participated in the “Diplomatic Architecture” competition, winning first place every single year. These consistent victories resulted in him being awarded directly by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Academically, Museyan has demonstrated equal excellence. He graduated from university with a distinction of “Excellent” last year. In recognition of his superior academic performance, he was gifted a scholarship seat to pursue a Master’s degree in Architecture.
Vision for Kurdistan
Despite his success in Russia, the Kurdish engineer maintains deep ties to his heritage. Museyan has publicly expressed his desire to open solo exhibitions in Erbil, Sulaimani, and Duhok.
Beyond artistic displays, he plans to transfer his professional skills to the Kurdistan Region, with the intention of developing architectural projects and expanding his work within the region.
