KDC Statement Regarding the Status and Future of Eastern Kurdistan

To the Resilient and Steadfast People of Eastern Kurdistan:

As shifting geopolitical dynamics and the internal situation in Iran undergo fundamental transformation, a new horizon and a historic opportunity are emerging for the Kurdish people of Eastern Kurdistan (Western Iran).

This critical  juncture represents a decisive turning point, offering a path to transcend the consequences of over four decades of systemic marginalization and to realize the objectives for which our people have long engaged in civil and political struggle.

The Kurdistani Diaspora Confederation (KDC), as a national institution, reaffirms its unwavering solidarity with the legitimate aspirations of the people of Eastern Kurdistan.

It is our firm conviction that the prerequisite for stability and the future viability of any governance system in the country is the democratic resolution of the Kurdish question and the assurance of political and social justice.

Our vision for the future is unequivocal: The Kurdish people must no longer be regarded merely as a demographic statistic. Rather, as a foundational constituent with a profound history, they must possess substantive decision-making authority and play an integral role in restructuring the political system and administering the country.

It is imperative that within any transitional framework and the drafting of the country’s new constitution, the national identity and constitutional rights of the Kurdish people be formally enshrined. The Kurds must be engaged as equal partners in governance.

The unity and political will of our people to secure their rights is an undeniable reality that must be central to any new political equation.

Long live the Kurds. Long live Kurdistan.
