Official Statement by the KDC Regarding the Agreement Between SDF & Syrian government

In recognition of our historical and national responsibility toward the sensitive situation in Western Kurdistan (Northern Syria) and the rapid political developments unfolding in the region, the Kurdistani Diaspora Confederation is closely and carefully monitoring the ongoing dialogue and agreement process between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Syrian government.

While the Kurdistani Diaspora Confederation firmly and unequivocally believes in the principle of dialogue, civilized negotiation, and peaceful solutions as the only legitimate path to ending conflict and resolving long-standing crises, we state clearly and without ambiguity that no agreement can be built on compromises that violate the legitimate rights of our people.

The Kurdistani Diaspora Confederation emphasizes that the rights of the Kurdish people must be explicitly and clearly enshrined in Syria’s permanent constitution. It must be formally recognized that Kurds are an indigenous and principal component of the Syrian state, and that they are entitled to full and equal citizenship. Furthermore, the Kurdish language must be officially recognized as a fundamental right.

We hereby declare, in the clearest terms, that the Confederation rejects any attempt or plan aimed at undermining or dismantling the political and administrative structure of Western Kurdistan. We firmly believe that preserving and strengthening this Kurdish structure, and achieving a just and genuine solution to the Kurdish question, is the essential key to securing a peaceful, stable, and prosperous future for Syria. Without a fair resolution to the Kurdish issue, no lasting stability can be achieved in Syria.

For this purpose, and as a message of warning and pressure, we reaffirm that the large-scale public demonstration taking place tomorrow in the city of Bonn, Germany, aims to convey our position and our rejection to the entire world. Through this collective action, we declare with one unified voice that under no circumstances should the rights of the Kurdish people in Rojava be ignored or sacrificed for temporary political interests.

Glory to the people of Kurdistan, and may the political and administrative structure of Western Kurdistan remain protected.

Long live the Kurds.

Long live Kurdistan.
