President of the Kurdistani Diaspora Confederation Discusses Kurdistani Diaspora–Kyrgyzstan Relations with the Kyrgyz Parliament

A high-level delegation from the Kurdistani Diaspora Confederation was officially received at the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan, where discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations and opening new avenues of cooperation with the Kurdistani Diaspora.

Today, July 22, 2026, the capital of Kyrgyzstan became the venue for an important diplomatic meeting aimed at serving the Kurdish cause and enhancing the capabilities and role of the Kurdistani diaspora in the country.

According to available information, the Chairperson and the Deputy Chairperson of the Committee on Foreign Policy and Diplomacy of the Kyrgyz Parliament formally welcomed Dr Ismail Kamil, President of the Kurdistani Diaspora Confederation, and Ramazan Saidov, President of the International Federation of Kurdish Associations in Kyrgyzstan.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the status and role of the Kurdistani diaspora within Kyrgyzstan. A significant part of the talks was devoted to emphasizing the need to establish direct relations and develop diplomatic and friendly cooperation with the Kurdistani diaspora. Both sides stressed the importance of such ties and expressed their commitment to advancing them.

The countries of Central Asia, particularly Kyrgyzstan, have a long history of Kurdish presence. For decades, a considerable number of Kurds have lived in the region. Despite historical challenges, the Kurdish community has not only succeeded in preserving its language and cultural identity but has also become an active contributor to the development of Kyrgyz society, with many distinguished Kurdish figures emerging in various fields.

At present, the Kurdistani Diaspora Confederation abroad has entered a new phase of activity, seeking to transform its social and cultural presence into a modern framework for diplomacy and economic cooperation. High-level meetings of this kind at the parliamentary level demonstrate that the Kurdish diaspora can serve as a strong and strategic bridge for building official relations between countries and the institutions of the Kurdistani diaspora. This represents an important step toward increasing international recognition of the Kurdistan Region and strengthening its position on the map of international relations.
