KDC Condemns Fatal Strike on Civilian Home in Erbil

To the resilient and struggling people of Kurdistan…
To the Kurdish Diaspora…

We condemn, in the strongest possible terms, the terrorist attack launched from Iranian territory against the sovereignty of the Kurdistan Region, which resulted in the martyrdom of a Peshmerga and his wife inside their own home.

In the early hours of this morning, April 7, 2026, an explosive-laden drone targeted a civilian residence in the village of Zargazawi, located in the Darashakran district of Erbil province.

This heinous crime, committed while the family was asleep, claimed the lives of Musa Anwar Rasul and his wife, Muzhda Asaad Hassan. Their two young daughters have been left orphaned, suffering from severe shock and trauma.

This act is a crime against humanity and a flagrant violation of international law. It is particularly tragic given that this patriotic family had previously made sacrifices in the war against ISIS terrorists in 2018.

The Kurdistani Diaspora Confederation calls upon the international community, coalition partners, and human rights organizations not to remain silent in the face of such violations and war crimes. We urge them to take a firm and decisive stance to protect the territory of the Kurdistan Region and the lives of its civilian population.

We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the two victims and share in the profound grief of their two innocent children. We salute the pure souls of the martyrs on the path to Kurdistan’s freedom.

Long live the Kurds… Long live Kurdistan…
