the Kurdistan Diaspora Writers’ Federation is holding its first congress in Düsseldorf, Germany, on July 25, 2026, with the attendance of the General Supervisor of the Kurdistani Diaspora Confederation (KDC)
The event is dedicated to the legacy of the late poet “Hejar Mukriyani” and is held under the theme: “Towards an Authentic and Contemporary Kurdish Literature.”
The congress will be attended by Shifa Barzani, General Supervisor of the KDC at the Barzani Headquarters, alongside a distinguished group of writers, intellectuals, and guests from the Kurdish diaspora.
The primary objective of the congress is to evaluate the Federation’s activities, foster connections among Kurdish writers living abroad, and provide support for the Kurdish language, literature, and culture beyond national borders.
The Kurdistan Diaspora Writers’ Federation represents Kurds from all parts of Kurdistan and the former Soviet Union.
It serves as an inclusive platform for diverse voices and perspectives, aiming to create an environment conducive to creativity and the advancement of Kurdish language and literature.
The Federation is affiliated with the Confederation of the Kurdistani Diaspora.
Selecting the name “Hejar Mukriyani” for their inaugural congress is a tribute to the significant literary contributions and translations of this celebrated Kurdish writer, whose work has had a profound impact on Kurdish language and literature.
