Representing the Kurdistani Diaspora Confederation (KDC), Herman Ahmad participated in a seminar commemorating the Yazidi Genocide, organized by the Kurdistan Centers in Belgium and Brussels in cooperation with several organizations.
Today, Monday, August 3, 2026, Ms. Herman Ahmad, Head of the Media Office of the Kurdistani Diaspora Confederation (KDC), represented the Confederation at a seminar marking the 12th anniversary of the genocide against our Yazidi Kurdish brothers and sisters. The event was organized by the Kurdistan Centers in Brussels and Belgium together with several organizations in Brussels.
On behalf of the the Kurdistani Diaspora Confederation (KDC), Ms. Herman Ahmad delivered a speech in which she reflected on the painful history and suffering endured by the Kurdish people. In one part of her address, she stated:
“As a Confederation, we firmly believe that the Kurdish diaspora can become a powerful ambassador for raising international awareness of the Yazidi genocide and for preserving our national identity.”
The ceremony was attended by a number of Kurdish and Belgian figures, as well as representatives of institutions and organizations. Participants honored the memory of the victims of the Yazidi genocide and reaffirmed the importance of justice and the protection of nations and peoples.
It is worth noting that the Sinjar tragedy occurred on August 3, 2014, when the terrorist organization ISIS carried out a large-scale massacre against the Yazidi Kurds, committing atrocities that shocked the conscience of humanity.

Distinguished guests, honorable attendees, representatives of the Kurdish diaspora, respected participants, and dear brothers and sisters,
It is a great pleasure to stand before you today on behalf of the Kurdistan Confederation under the umbrella of this national institution, as we gather for this important seminar to discuss the critical issues affecting the future of our people.
Our gathering today carries profound humanitarian and national significance, as it coincides with the 12th anniversary of one of the most horrific and brutal crimes of this century—the genocide committed against our Yazidi brothers and sisters by the terrorist organization ISIS. This tragedy shook the conscience of humanity and left an unhealed wound in the body of our nation.
This seminar is not merely a commemorative event. It is both an academic and political effort to develop a new roadmap for the Kurdish diaspora’s struggle. We are here to ensure that the tragedy of Sinjar and the Yazidi genocide are never forgotten and continue to be recognized as a living international case.
At a time when the world is undergoing rapid change, it is our collective responsibility to strengthen the Kurdish diaspora into an effective political force capable of influencing governments around the world. In doing so, we can not only defend our legitimate rights through modern and effective means but also help prevent the recurrence of any future genocide against our people.

As a Confederation, we firmly believe that the Kurdish diaspora can become a powerful ambassador for promoting international awareness of the Yazidi genocide and preserving our national identity. Conferences and seminars such as this are strategic steps that send a clear message to the world: Kurds abroad are a conscious and determined force committed to safeguarding our history and national achievements.
I also express my sincere appreciation to everyone who worked tirelessly behind the scenes and on the front lines to make this event a success.
