The Remarkable Projects of a Kurdish Family in Russia Impress Vladimir Putin
During a special ceremony marking the 879th anniversary of the founding of Moscow, the Kurdish “Zelimkhan Mutsoev” family, residing in the Russian capital, inaugurated the outdoor “Dream Island” project, with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin in attendance.
While officially opening the project, President Putin extended his congratulations and expressed his admiration for the Kurdish family’s endeavors.
“In just one month, nearly one and a half million people visit this island. It is truly remarkable, and I congratulate you. I remember you previously discussing your development plans; it is a highly successful endeavor, and I am delighted that your projects in Moscow are running so smoothly,” Putin said.
Speaking about their latest venture, Amiran Zelimkhan Mutsoev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dream Island, stated that following the launch of the indoor Dream Island theme park six years ago, they have now opened the outdoor Dream Island project.
He noted that on a global scale, this project ranks fifth of its kind. Mutsoev also highlighted that the development brings a new dimension to the urban environment and family entertainment, while simultaneously creating job opportunities for an additional 1,800 people.
It is worth recalling that in 2020, with Vladimir Putin in attendance, this family opened the original indoor Dream Island, which is the largest indoor theme park in Europe and Russia.
Furthermore, in 2023, they inaugurated Russia’s largest swimming pool complex in Moscow, and in 2025—again in the presence of President Putin—they launched the largest Ferris wheel in the world, also located in Moscow.
