President Masoud Barzani received a delegation from the Canada-Kurdistan Parliamentary Friendship Group on Monday, in Pirmam. The delegation included Mr. Ziad Aboultaif, Member of the Canadian Parliament, and Mr. Ahmed Hussen, Member of the Canadian Parliament and former Minister of International Development.
During the meeting, the delegation expressed their pleasure in meeting President Barzani, affirming the justice of the cause of the people of Kurdistan.
They further expressed their appreciation for the struggle and sacrifices of the Kurdish people and the heroism of the Peshmerga in the war against ISIS terrorists.

The delegation provided an overview of the work and activities of the Canada-Kurdistan Parliamentary Friendship Group, their coordination with the Kurdish community federation, and the federation’s role in supporting the cause of the people of Kurdistan.
The delegation also expressed their desire to expand the horizons of friendship and relations between the Kurdistan Region and Canada, particularly in the fields of economy and technology.
For his part, President Barzani expressed his gratitude for the support and assistance provided by the people and government of Canada to the people of Kurdistan and the Peshmerga at various stages, especially during the war against ISIS terrorists.
President Barzani also affirmed his support for deepening the bonds of friendship and relations between the peoples of Kurdistan and Canada, providing the necessary insights and perspectives in this regard.
