Rizgar Hussein, widely known as Hiso—a researcher, civil engineer, and candidate for the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) in the Oldenburg local elections—has announced the official conclusion of his election campaign. While expressing his deep gratitude to the citizens, he urged voters to head to the polls on September 13, emphasizing that together they can take meaningful steps toward change, progress, and building a better future.

Rizgar Hiso embodies a rare and inspiring blend of academic excellence and profound social responsibility. Born in 1992 in the village of Chalabi, near Kobani, he is married and a father of three. He is fluent in four languages: Kurdish, German, Arabic, and English.
In the academic and professional sphere, Hiso works as a researcher in civil engineering in Germany. He holds a master’s degree in Construction Engineering and Project Management from Jade University in Oldenburg. Prior to that, he earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Oldenburg, having originally begun his university studies at the University of Aleppo in Syria.
As an SPD candidate in Oldenburg, Hiso focuses on bridging the gap between science, politics, and the needs of the community. He plays an active role in both German and Kurdish civil society organizations, striving to strengthen social dialogue, promote the integration process, and advocate for the democratic participation of all communities.
