Shifa Barzani, General Supervisor of the Kurdistani Diaspora Confederation (KDC), extended his heartfelt condolences to Subhi Mimzaman following the tragic loss of his son, Mohammed, his daughter-in-law, and one of his children in a devastating car accident in Bulgaria.
During a telephone conversation, Shifa Barzani expressed his deepest sympathy and solidarity with Subhi Mimzaman and his family, offering his condolences over their profound loss. He also wished a swift recovery for his injured daughter, who is the only survivor of the tragic accident.
On Tuesday, 28 July 2026, Shifa Barzani contacted Subhi Mimzaman by telephone to convey his condolences following the death of his son Mohammed, and his daughter-in-law, and their child. The tragedy occurred as the Kurdish family was travelling by land from Germany to the Kurdistan Region after spending a period of time abroad, with the intention of returning to their homeland.
However, their journey ended in tragedy when they were involved in a serious car accident in Bulgaria.
The accident, which took place on Monday, 27 July 2026, resulted in the immediate deaths of Mohammed Subhi Mimzaman, his wife, and one of their children. His other daughter, Yalima, who was seriously injured in the same accident, is currently receiving medical treatment at a hospital in Bulgaria under close medical supervision. Her health condition remains unstable.
During the telephone conversation, Shifa Barzani reaffirmed that their thoughts, prayers, and support would remain with the family as they hoped for Yalima’s recovery and for her to overcome this difficult stage. He also prayed that Almighty God would grant the family patience, strength, and comfort during this time of immense grief.
The tragic incident has sparked a wave of sympathy and condolences among the Kurdistan diaspora and citizens of the Kurdistan Region, particularly because the family was on their journey home to their homeland when the accident occurred.
