The Kurdistan Writers Federation – Diaspora Elects Its New Executive Board

With the aim of renewing its leadership and developing a new strategy to better serve Kurdish writers in the diaspora, the Kurdistan Writers Federation – Diaspora has democratically and transparently elected a new executive board.

This step marks the beginning of a new phase in strengthening the organization’s work and uniting the talents and efforts of Kurdish writers living outside their homeland.

On the evening of 1 August 2026, in a democratic atmosphere, the Kurdistan Writers Federation – Diaspora held its election to select a new executive board. The event was attended by Dr. Ismail Kamil, President of the Confederation of the Kurdistan Diaspora, and Shukri Barwari, Vice President of the Confederation. During the meeting, the new members of the executive board were elected to lead the Federation’s activities in the coming term.

Following the vote, the following individuals were entrusted with the Federation’s leadership positions:

  1. Sardar Jaf – President of the Federation.
  2. Abdulbaqi Husseini – Vice President of the Federation.
  3. Davan Yahya Khalil – Head of Media and Communications.
  4. Gawhar Mamo – Head of Public Relations.

The attendees congratulated the newly elected board and wished its members every success in carrying out their responsibilities. They also emphasized the importance of unity, cooperation, and collective action in order to provide meaningful support for Kurdish writers in the diaspora and to further develop the Federation’s activities in the years ahead.
