In a statement issued on Tuesday, President Barzani condemned the attack that resulted in the martyrdom of “two innocent citizens,” describing the incident as an “unjust attack” carried out by an Iranian drone.
He said the strike “has filled all our hearts with pain and sorrow,” underscoring the emotional toll of the attack on the people of Kurdistan.
Condemning the incident in strong terms, President Barzani stated: “This act represents a grave injustice and a blatant crime: innocent people of Kurdistan were targeted without any justification, driven by senseless hatred.”
He extended his condolences to the families of the victims and firmly denounced the targeting of civilians, adding: “There is neither courage nor honor in killing civilians in the Kurdistan Region. The will of the people of Kurdistan is stronger than any attack, aggression, or drone strike—it will not be broken. The people of Kurdistan will remain steadfast, placing their trust in God and in the justice of their cause.”
The statement underscores a firm rejection of attacks on civilians, as the Kurdistan Region mourns the loss of innocent lives.

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful,
Last night, the Kurdistan Region was once again subjected to an unjust attack. Tragically, two innocent civilians in the village of Zargazawi in Erbil Province were martyred by an Iranian drone.
This act represents a grave injustice and a blatant crime: innocent people of Kurdistan were targeted without any justification, driven by senseless hatred.
The loss of these two innocent lives has brought deep sorrow to us all.
I extend my heartfelt condolences to their families and loved ones. May Almighty God grant them eternal peace in His vast Paradise.
There is neither courage nor honor in killing civilians in the Kurdistan Region. The will of the people of Kurdistan is stronger than any attack, aggression, or drone strike—it will not be broken.
The people of Kurdistan will remain steadfast, placing their trust in God and in the justice of their cause.
Masoud Barzani
