On Saturday, inside the Capitol Hill, and during the EXPO 2027: Enhancing Transatlantic Economic Cooperation conference, Mr. Kurd, Head of the International Relations Office of the Kurdistani Diaspora Confederation (KDC), met with Gavin M. Wax, Chief of Staff in the Office of the Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy, and Tara Shwan, Executive Director of the American-Kurdish Economic Institute.
The discussions focused on strengthening economic ties and expanding cooperation between the United States and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

Mr. Wax reaffirmed the United States’ longstanding friendship and partnership with the Kurdistan Region, emphasizing America’s deep appreciation for the Kurdistani people and their contributions to regional stability, economic development, and democratic values. He also reiterated continued U.S. support for fostering a strong, productive, and enduring relationship with the Kurdistan Region, based on mutual respect, shared interests, and common aspirations for the future.

On the sidelines of the conference, the Confederation representative also met with a number of diplomats, government officials, and representatives of various organizations, exchanging views on issues of mutual interest and exploring opportunities for future cooperation.
